Trails come upon us and Miracles Happen!

Just want to throw this out there.  I know this is not related to Scripture study but...Anything will help, prayers included. Also, I think it is important to note that through Fasting, prayer and priesthood blessings we have seen miracles happen. The biggest change was once the priesthood was able to actual lay hands on the baby's head and a very emotion filled grandpa give a blessing right before this little guy headed into surgery when being only a week old.

My sister in law, (that I have known since she was 6) got married almost 2 years ago. On their 1st Wedding Anniversary, her Husband who was a non member and had been taking the discussions with the missionaries, got baptized. Several months later they found out they were expecting and that the baby would be here a bit after their 2nd anniversary ,where they were going to go be sealed.  Guess this little boy has a mind of his own or wants to be actually part of the sealing and decided to come 3 months early.

My sister in law and her husband have been given a great trial and I am so proud of them.
Read the link for more of the story but let me say I am so grateful to know these 3. Wendy and Ben are true hero's to me. Their strength and faith is inspiring, (especially when I think of them as so young but they aren't).

Baby Luke is a special addition to the whole family and I think great things are in store for him
I feel blessed that I was able to be part of giving blessings to Wendy and Ben (I was not the one mentioned in the article) but I did beat Wendy and the helicopter to the hospital for the first flight and was able to help with the first blessing to her.

This trial of their faith is one that might make some crumble but not these two...love you guys and I am grateful that I know you.

New idea for daily study

Saw this article and thought to share it.

Basically you get a group of people together that will be willing to text each other once they have finished their scripture study for the day. You would mention something you found interesting or just liked.

I think it is a great idea.. I posted it on my Facebook but thought to mention it here.

Any takers? I have a few ideas how we could do this with a large group.

Updated Come Follow Me Young Woman

After using the "Come Follow Me" format for a year now, my wife has given me some helpful feedback on the Study Guide I created last year.
I have added more writing space and set each month up as it's own file.

Patriarchal Blessings: Idea on study

I read a few different ideas on how to study your patriarchal Blessing. Evrything form converting it into chapter and verse to color coding and marking.
I have decided to do my own thing and share it here.

I printed out a copy of my blessing with slightly wider margins and at a space and a half between lines.
 I came up with 6 main areas of importance:

• Pre\Post World
• Linage
• Warnings
• Commandments
• GIfts of Spirit
• Opportunities
  
  
   Each marked with their own color. I also looked up terms I was unsure of or ones that were repeated to see what the defintion was as well as how the Lord has used it in scripture.

This will be an on going task as i read and study it over and over.

2013 Study Guide "Come Follow Me" Youth

 

 I created a new study guide Based on the  New

 "Come Follow Me" lessons.


It is printed the size of half a regular page (so it is easier to fit into my scripture case)

Update 3-27-13 I have made some small changes to the small version. Added Month headers and a cover page


Update 4-15-2013 Make sure if you printed out the study guide you update notes within it to reflect the latest from the leaders. April Conference is already being added to the lessons online!

Has each of the lessons from the Young Men's and Young Women's  section with the questions, talks and videos listed.


I then added a space where I can make notes on what I thought and felt as I read or watched each item.

 I would hope it will come in handy as I talk to others on the lesson topics as well as just giving me a new insight into what the Youth  are being taught.




















I have also created a large format (regular paper size) if people like that format.

My wife asked me to bind hers with an extra page in between each of the printed so she would have more room to write. I cut the page to 3/4 width and placed as requested. It has worked out nice for her. She takes it to her class each week and teaches from it.
